FRx 20 Questions

This is what I call 20 Questions! Here are the questions we need to discuss, whether via phone or email, in order to take a step towards working together:

  1. What version of FRx are you using?

  2. On which GL?

  3. What's your account structure?

  4. Does your GL use dimensions? If so, please describe. (You'll know it if it does. Primarily for Axapta and Navision and some FDM installations.)

  5. Is this a new implementation or do you have existing reports?

  6. Do you have multiple companies to consolidate?

  7. Do all your companies use the same GL?

  8. Do all your companies use exactly the same chart of accounts?

  9. Do all your companies use the same fiscal year?

  10. Do you use any alternative accounting periods such as 52/53 week, 4/4/5, etc.?

  11. Have any multicurrency issues?

  12. Do you have security enabled in FRx?

  13. Do you need to report using statistics?

  14. If so, are your stats in the GL or do you need to link to excel?

  15. What financial reports do you want to create? (Can you send them, either hard copy or in Excel?)

  16. Have you experienced any installation-related issues with FRx, or is everything stable?

  17. Any specific difficulties you're having?

  18. What's your timeframe?

  19. I'm in Dallas. Where are you?

A few more questions if you want users trained:

  1. How much training do you want for your users, just a quick overview on how to run the new reports, or do you want them doing the report development (or somewhere in between)?

  2. What's the experience of users (beginner, intermediate)?

  3. How many users are to be trained?

  4. Are there any specific issues you want covered?

  5. What reports do you want completed at the end of training? Be as specific as possible at this early stage of the game.

We can discuss all this via phone or via email, whatever your preference. First contact is usually best via email so we don't end up playing tag.

Also, if you have existing FRx reports, please send me your spec set using these instructions.
