I
approach training a little differently than most. I used to
teach from the FRx Essentials I manual. It's an excellent
resource. If you want traditional classroom training, FRx in
Denver does a great job with their classes. It's a two day
class. But your users still
have to go back to their office and figure out how to apply what
they've learned.
That's why I train on your own live data.
Comparing this to classroom training, at the end of two days
you'll have users trained and have some actual reports
finished.
Whether you have a new or existing FRx implementation, we'll
first create a basic trial balance to give us something to tie
back to, then jump into creating the new reports you need.
I teach your users how to ensure accuracy. I
also stress presentation. And the best and most flexible way to
set up FRx. Distributing reports with drilldown. Cleaning up a
spec set and preventing corruption. How to grab a demo report so
you have a giant headstart on a cashflow report. Departmental
reporting. Lots of tricks that you won't find in a book.
This training ends up being a combination of
training and report development services.
Training takes place at your site. I won't do a
remote class; I just don't think it works nearly as well.
There is a limitation to the number of users who
can be trained with this method. One works best. Two works well.
Three and up: the pace slows down. I have to change the
technique a little but I can make it work so that everyone still
gets plenty of hands on. Note that most companies appoint one
FRx 'go-to'; I need to spend most of my time with that individual.
I can do one day of training, but I recommend
two or more.

report development, it's time to play
